About a week ago I thought about what table setting to use for the upcoming dinner and since we love the people that are coming they have seen several of our table settings. So it was time to go back to the drawing board when we remembered the stuff I had bought at Lilly Pulitzer a couple of years ago. For people who love pink and green like I do, this table setting is nirvanna! A couple of years ago I bought 2 Lilly Pulitzer floral sheets (not bed sheets) and never used them so they have been sitting in a bag. I bought 2 because I knew that one was not large emough for my table so I overlapped two of them - because of the pattern it is not even noticeable. They have hot pink, light pink and touches of green and yellow with a sprinkle of white. On top of that I used my Main Line Green (which is a kelly green) chargers. For plates, I used Wedgewood cream on cream dinner plates and bread and butter plates. For candelabra I used cream ceramic Italian candelabra with a matching centerpiece bowl all of the pieces covered in cream flowers and the candelabra also have cherubs. The flower arrangement was a combination of different shades of pink roses, pale celery green roses, and a few yellow flowers. For leaves we have bushes out our front door that have green leaves with yellow accents and of course they were just perfect. For candles I wanted to be whimsical and used 3 pink and 1 green candle in each candelabra. For Napkins I had Lilly Pulitzer napkins predominantly in the pinks and greens. Actually there are a different pattern on each side. After some experimentation, I decided to use the side of the napkin that is predominent green with pink floral and pink polka dot accents. For napkin rings I used clear glass napkin rings. I popped into Lilly in Suburban Square to get some Lilly Pulitzer cocktail napkins. I choose the "Taboo" pattern which has fabulous pink elephants. When I saw the word Taboo it reminded me of the fabulous Taboo restaurant on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach - a real Palm beach landmark. While in Lilly, I also saw "Taboo" Lilly Pulitzer placecaed holders. I was so excited - I knew they would look perfect on my table.
